  • About Me

    Photography is more than just my profession — it’s the way I see the world. I’m always drawn to light, movement, and the subtle expressions that appear in fleeting moments. Even on my days off, I carry a camera with me, wanting to preserve life as it unfolds.

    What I value most is not staged expressions, but authenticity. There’s no need for perfect poses. Whether someone is laughing, crying, or even feeling a little frustrated, I believe those honest moments become the most meaningful memories.

    Before becoming a photographer, I worked as a mechanical engineer. In 2012, I chose to follow my passion and completely changed careers. I realized I wanted to connect with people and create something lasting, rather than spend my days in front of a computer.

    Travel has always been a major source of inspiration for me. I’ve visited more than 80 countries, and the Arctic Circle remains one of my favorite places. Photographing there has become a lifelong project and an important stage for my artistic work. New landscapes and encounters continue to shape the way I see and capture the world.

    Above all, the time I spend with my wife and children is the most precious part of my life. My photography is rooted in that sense of connection and the desire to cherish each present moment.

    Alongside my client work, I continue my artistic journey as a landscape photographer, holding solo exhibitions and offering fine art prints. Together with my wife, I also create and share content about Japanese language and culture through YouTube and podcasts.

    Through photography, I hope to preserve the connection between people and the atmosphere that exists only in that singular moment.

*CAMERA POV VIDEO ADD-ON |  JPY 30,000 + TAX

A GoPro-style camera is mounted on the main camera to capture your proposal from the photographer’s point of view.

While this is not professional-grade video, it provides a simple, unedited recording of the moment—perfect for those who want a keepsake video when a dedicated videographer is not present.
This unique perspective complements your photos and lets you relive the moment in a natural, candid way.

*MOMENT VIDEO ADD-ON｜JPY 30,000 + TAX

At the moment of the proposal, the camera is switched from photo to video—so instead of a burst of still frames, you get the moment itself: the words, the reaction, the emotion, exactly as they unfolded.
Unlike the Camera POV Add-on, this isn't an extra angle running alongside your stills—it's a deliberate trade: no photos of that one moment, in exchange for video of it.

Please note: because the same camera is used, no still photos are taken during the moments captured on video.

*EDITING STYLE CUSTOMIZATION ADD-ON |  JPY 60,000 + TAX

Photo editing is normally delivered in my signature portfolio style. However, I can tailor the final look to match your preferred aesthetic, such as color tone, contrast, skin softness, and overall mood (e.g., warm, natural, vintage, etc.).

If you have specific references or examples, please feel free to share them in advance so I can better understand your vision.

What’s Included / Not Included

*Each plan includes pre-shoot location coordination, handling of photography permits, on-site Japanese language support, post-shoot photo selection & editing, Travel Fee to our Basic Areas (Tokyo / Kyoto / Nagano and more)

*Each plan does not include Facility usage fees, admission fees, reservation fees, and the photographer's accommodation costs (if applicable) are not included in the session fee. The same applies to travel expenses for sessions outside our base area. In these cases, a separate estimate will be provided.

How is the shooting time calculated?


The shooting time is generally counted from the moment you, our clients, meet with our photographer. However, depending on the shooting conditions, there may be cases where the photographer needs to be on standby in advance for preparation. In such situations, the shooting time will be considered to start from the time the photographer begins that standby. Thank you for your understanding.

Travel included, no surprises.

All packages include travel to our basic areas — no extra travel fees, no calculations, just one clear price.

Basic Areas we often shoot at : Tokyo / Kyoto / Nagano / Kamikochi / Kawaguchiko / Matsumoto / Karuizawa / Kiso Valley

Please ask if your destination is not on the list.

For locations outside this area (e.g. Hokkaido, Nikko, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Okinawa), a travel fee will be quoted separately based on the destination.

*If the photographer’s accommodation is required for the shoot, such as for early morning or late night sessions, or for shoots in distant locations, an additional fee of JPY 20,000 + TAX per night will be charged.

Reservation, Changes, and Cancellation Policy

To secure your booking, you may choose one of the following payment options:

  • Full payment: Pay the full session fee at the time of reservation.

  • Split payment: Pay a 50% deposit at the time of reservation, with the remaining balance due 7 days prior to your scheduled session date.

PayPal, Wise, and Revolut payments are available. If you would like to pay by credit card, the payment will be processed via PayPal. Please note that payments made via PayPal incur a 5% transaction fee.

Please let us know your preferred payment method when you contact us.

The deposit (50% of the session fee) covers the time spent on planning, location scouting, preparation, and reserving your date, and is non-refundable.

If you need to change your reservation date, we are happy to accommodate your request at no additional cost, subject to availability. We recommend contacting us as early as possible so we can offer the best alternative options. We also do our best to remain flexible in case of weather changes.

Cancellations more than 7 days before the session: The deposit is non-refundable. Any amount paid beyond the deposit (e.g., the remaining balance, if paid in full) will be refunded. No additional charges apply.

Cancellations within 7 days of the session: The full amount already paid is non-refundable, as we are unable to accept other bookings for that time and planning has already been completed.

Please note that PayPal transaction fees are non-refundable.

FAQ

  • Prices depend on the length of the session, from 30 minutes to 2 hours. You can see the current price and what's included for each plan in the list above. Every proposal plan includes proposal planning support, travel to our basic areas, and professionally edited high-resolution images.

  • Proposal planning support, pre-shoot location coordination, handling of photography permits, on-site Japanese language support, professional photo selection and editing, and travel fee to our basic areas (Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagano and more). All communication is in English.

  • I help you choose the perfect location, plan the best timing for light and atmosphere, and create a proposal plan tailored to your vision. I also keep you updated with weather forecasts and local conditions before the day. For the details of the main plans, see Proposal Game Plans.

  • I plan this with you in advance, based on the location and your partner. Depending on the situation, I can stay at a distance, or appear as a friendly photographer or passing tourist, so the moment unfolds naturally and your partner doesn't suspect anything. On the day, I guide you gently, with no stiff poses or forced smiles.

  • Facility usage fees, admission fees, reservation fees, and the photographer's accommodation (if needed) are not included. Locations outside our basic areas have a separate travel fee, which we quote in advance. Extra time on location is also available as an extension. See the sections above for details.

    I can also help arrange proposal details like flowers or assist with anything we plan together. Additional costs may apply.

  • We frequently shoot in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagano, Kamikochi, Kawaguchiko, Matsumoto, Karuizawa, and the Kiso Valley. However, we are available to travel anywhere across Japan.

    Travel is included for many locations, though a travel fee may apply depending on the destination. Please feel free to inquire for a custom quote.

  • For most couples, I recommend a 60-minute or 90-minute session for proposal photos. This allows enough time to capture the atmosphere of the proposal itself, while also giving you plenty of time for engagement photos afterwards. If you would like to visit multiple locations for your engagement photos, a 90-minute or 2-hour session is a great choice. If your schedule is tight, or if you would like to focus mainly on capturing the proposal moment, a 30-minute session can still beautifully capture that special moment. If you’re not sure, feel free to share your plans with me, and I’ll suggest the best session length for you.

  • Shooting time normally starts when you meet the photographer. If the photographer needs to be on standby in advance for preparation, it starts from the time the standby begins.

  • The number of professionally edited high-resolution images depends on the plan (see above). Delivery is within 1 week for most plans and 2 weeks for the 8-hour plan.

  • Yes. Photos are normally delivered in my signature portfolio style, and I can tailor the look as an add-on. Share reference photos in advance if you have them.

  • Yes, there are two options. The Camera POV Video Add-on records the proposal from the photographer's point of view alongside your photos. The Moment Video Add-on switches the camera from photo to video at the moment of the proposal, so you get the words and the reaction as they happened, instead of still photos of that moment. See the add-ons above for details. If you need professional-grade video, please ask.

  • Send an inquiry through the contact form with your dates, location and ideas. You can pay in full or pay a 50% deposit to secure the date. PayPal, Wise and Revolut are accepted.

  • Date changes are free, subject to availability. We stay flexible about the weather, so contact us as early as possible and we'll find the best alternative.

  • Please see the Reservation, Changes, and Cancellation Policy section above.

  • Yes. All communication, planning and the session itself are in English. I also provide Japanese language support on site, so you don't need to worry about arrangements, permits or communication with local staff.

  • Yes. With a longer session, there's time for a relaxed couple's photoshoot after the proposal, for photos with the engagement still fresh. Please tell me in advance if you'd like this, so I can plan the schedule and locations.

  • Any photoshoot in wedding attire is treated as a Pre-Wedding session. Please see the Wedding Packages page.
